Moab Expedition 2018

Spring in the Rocky Mountains. Warm enough days to make you dream the 12,000 foot peaks are almost green again, and cold enough to remind you that you’ve got a few months to go. Fortunately for us, Utah is just a few hours away.

The petroglyphs off of 211. It’s an obvious pull off and pretty cool to stare at and wonder about the old world.

Spring Moab trips have turned into an annual event with the crew. Temperatures from 70-80, with cool 50 degree nights make perfect weather for exploration. This year was a 4 day trek, as always I wish it could have been a lot longer. This year we decided to tackle Lockhart Basin, and Lockhart Canyon with a starting point of Hamburger Rock campground off of highway 211.

There’s a special feeling out in the desert away from everything. I spent a lot of time outdoors, but it’s this desert that holds the most powerful feeling of a connection to something. It puts your mind at ease, lights your soul on fire, and makes you wish you could live in that moment forever. I can’t quite describe it right. Something that must be experienced for yourself.

On the side trail “Lockhart Canyon” we found this old car and a dual axle. Pretty neat seeing this type of thing so far out. How did they make it out here?

Warm and comfy. And praying for bacon of course.

Burning some energy before I make her get back into the Fj. Neon green rabbit chasing simulations are the best for that.
